Social Support

APCare staff provide social support to people who need this. Whether you or a loved one requires specialised help to access and participate in community life, APCare can arrange a solution to suit the lifestyle of each person.

APCare provides social support to people with disabilities and frail older people. Social support can also be restorative. This means that staff who provide help to 'go out and do things' can also be helping the person reduce their dependence on social support over time so we "do ourselves out of a job" and build independence skills that may have been lost but which can be re-gained.

Social support can include:

  • Support to get about in the community
  • Transportation to and from appointments
  • Support to participate in recreational activities
  • Companion Care for older people - mental stimulation through games, conversation; help with handling household administration (eg. booking tradespeople)
