Cathy benefits significantly from the support provided by AP Care. With the assistance of Sandy and Monica, she is engaging with the community in a positive way. Their support has given Cathy a sense of independence and confidence that she had not previously experienced with other carers. As a result, she is more settled at home, with fewer behavioural concerns.
With Sandy and Monica’s guidance, Cathy is more willing to try new activities and feels safer when accessing the community, such as getting in and out of high vehicles with assistance or visiting unfamiliar places. She receives support to attend appointments, pick up prescriptions from the chemist, go grocery shopping, and participate in recreational activities like dog walking, watching movies, dining out, or shopping independently.
Since Cathy does not have friends to share these experiences with, Sandy and Monica play a crucial role in supporting her mental health and well-being. She eagerly looks forward to spending time with them, as they make her feel valued, respected, and safe when engaging with the community.
